Recently I participated in an exercise where I wrote my own eulogy.
Morbid? Maybe.
But it made me think.
Before I put pen to paper, I started to contemplate.
What is the legacy I am leaving in this world?

Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day. That is the standard work week for an average American. When looking for a job, people will consider looking for a company that has good benefits, hours, and culture. One way companies are starting to leverage themselves with good hours and a work-life balance is by switching to a 4 day work week. Instead of working 8 hours a day for 5 days a week they work 10 hours a day for 4 days a week, typically either having Monday or Friday off. Switching to a 4 day work week from a 5 day work week has shown numerous benefits including; employees not taking as much time off, work-life balance, increase productivity, and saving money altogether.

At Pulse, we strongly encourage our employees to travel. When you travel, you experience people and cultures in a way that you never could in a book. You come back to work with new perspectives, creative ideas, and a refreshed state-of-mind. You also bring back stories that inspire and energize your coworkers. It’s definitely my favorite way to stay inspired.

Guess what.
No one will like you if you’re boring.
It’s harsh — but real.
The whole point of marketing is to make your products or services seem more appealing and purchase-worthy. How on earth are you planning to sell to people if you’re boring them to death?

What the heck is SEO?
The most popular question I’m asked by clients, friends, and business associates is the following: “So, what the heck is SEO?” This term is thrown around so often in the marketing world that it’s almost taboo these days. I believe so much of the confusion regarding it lies in its ambiguity.

Every career requires certain skills or needs that a person must possess in order to be successful at it. Take being a singer, for example. Without being highly skilled in singing and entertaining, you wouldn’t make it very far in your career. What about a graphic designer? You should have an eye for design, immense creativity, and the skills to run and work Adobe software programs — like the designers here at Pulse. Project management is no different; in order to do your job well, there are quite a few skills you need to really excel and thrive. These include communication, time management, planning, and leadership.

We’ve all heard the expression that actions speak louder than words. But what about when it comes to branding?
Every brand has a core message – well, every successful brand, that is. By that, I don’t mean just a description of its products or services, but a voice, a style, a tone: something that consumers can relate to. You may not realize it, but most of your purchasing decisions are based on subconscious feelings. In fact, 90% of all buying choices made by anyone are influenced by underlying emotions or connections to a given brand. Do you still think words aren’t important?

Creating graphics can be a daunting task for anyone just starting out in the world of web design. The graphics are very important to the success of a website because they are what keeps your audience engaged. People may come to your site for information, but the images are what truly captivates them. Images set the whole tone of your site; within a few seconds, people can determine whether they even like your site and think it is worth exploring simply based on a few images.

Guess who just got engaged?! This girl!
This is BEYOND exciting for me — I’m already looking forward to all of the things that come with this new and sparkly engagement ring. I can’t stop thinking about my color scheme, bridesmaids dresses, when the photographer will email me back, if we’ll ever find a dj in our price range…
